Therapeutic Approach

Experience a transformative journey through a compassionate therapeutic approach designed to facilitate personal exploration and effectively address emotional challenges.

In over two decades of experience in the field, specializing in integrative transpersonal therapy, I have cultivated a deep understanding of the therapeutic needs of both adults and young people.

My approach, which harmonizes conventional therapeutic theories with creative techniques such as visualization, drawing, and enactment, has proven effective in enabling clients to achieve deep self-reflection and personal integration.

I am particularly adept at helping individuals connect with their underlying "soul story," drawing inspiration from the works of Thomas Moore and James Hillman.

Fundamental to my therapeutic approach is my focus on relationality.

The way we meet and relate is where we meet ourselves and where our healing takes place.

I am approachable and always curious to hear what it is that you want to work with, and what you are afraid of, or ashamed of, in the shadow.

Being integrative and soul-focused offers the opportunity to include all of yourself in a safe and caring way.

A creative, contemporary approach to psychotherapy, integrating developmental, relational and archetypal perspectives in a soulfully grounded way.

I work within a framework that blends concepts from Jungian, Gestalt, relational, psychodynamic, neuroscience, body psychotherapy and family systems theory, as well as developmental and archetypal psychology. Through this, I combine a broad perspective with down-to-earth high quality therapeutic skills.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis, Re-Vision, London, NW6 6RY

My approach to counselling is to recognise the impact of life experiences that have contributed to us to feeling depressed or desperate, confused or helpless, panicked or compulsive.

What is it that has occurred that has caused us to feel lost to our self?

Through building a therapeutic relationship between us we can address where feelings and emotions have become challenging and difficult to express or understand.

This is the soulful process, and aims to marry soul and spirit with being practical in the world – soul’s delight in the detail of everyday life with the spirit’s awareness of the bigger picture of which we are each individually a connected part, and to which we can contribute practically in our life.

I am still happy to work with young people over the age of 16.

Testimonials

"Initially I was very tentative to discuss my personal life, but sitting with Caroline we quickly established a rapport which helped me relax and gradually talk through what had persistently distressed me since my teenage years."

"I was only 9 when my Nan died who I was very close to. I lived with raw grief gnawing away at me even though it was years ago. In counselling I was finally able to say how much I had loved her and now felt able to say Goodbye. I feel so much better."

"I had realised I had big problems in my marriage but I had no idea how to face it. In therapy I began to take responsibility for the things I could change, and gradually discovered the courage to talk it all out with my partner."
